In May 2024, Prague-based engineering firm AKAENE implemented Easy Redmine to streamline their cross-domain project and resource management. After facing limitations with traditional Redmine, AKAENE sought a solution to integrate software development and domain expertise within their projects, while also gaining better visibility into resource allocation.
With Easy Redmine, AKAENE has achieved a unified project view, more effective cross-functional collaboration, and optimised resource management, bringing clarity and control to their operations.
Before switching to Easy Redmine
Previously, AKAENE used Redmine to manage projects and company resources. Project management did not allow effectively track cross-domain work, specifically aligning domain experts with software developers. It was also difficult to identify what resources are available and which are used to make decisions about their allocation.

Time to implement
1. Preparation
Prior to implementation, basic requirements were defined based on gap analysis of the current solutions. Different suitable solutions were identified and discussed within the company and its employees at different levels.
2. Settings
The trial of Easy Redmine involved different type of users, such as the managing director, financial manager, product owner, and software developers. Each of these had their roles set up according to their needs. This involved customized dashboards, permissions, and workflows, customized according to each role.
4. Server solution
Due to practical reasons, AKAENE chose a server solution. The system environment was set up on temporary cloud. Modifications of the application were performed directly on the temporary cloud.
5. Training
In the trial setting, users received no dedicated training apart from reference to Easy Redmine general documentation and various online resources. The users were informed about relevant sections and features pertaining to their respective roles in the company.
6. Testing
Test environment was used together with a sample of data already present in the previous, Redmine system. The users were tasked to test specific features relevant to their role in the company and report their assessment.

AKAENE is a startup company specialized in developing systems thinking and systemic solutions to safety.
