Release notes for Knowledge base 4.4.0

March upgrade of Knowledge base add-on (version 4.4.0) brings a few bigger changes. To check your current version, visit page /wiki/Special:Version in section Installed software find BlueSpice.

Design / layout

We implemented a new, modern skin, which brings the Knowledge base look closer to Easy Redmine.

Main menu is on the left. Table of contents of a page is sticky (always shows).

And of course many details improvements.

Expanded access management

New ability to set public namespaces, i.e., those belonging to the whole internet. One possible use case is public documentation of your product.

Groups from Easy Redmine can be synchronized with groups within the KB application, which streamlines access control. For example, your whole Knowledge base is only accessible by your internal employees. However, there is some content which you want to share with your partners >   namespace which is open to users belonging to the group Partners.

On the other hand, there are some financial information in your KB. These may be stored in a namespace that is accessible only by users in group Management.

Droplets

These are prepared formatted items, which enrich the page content, thus retaining attention of the reader.
