In this article, I will focus a bit on the relationship between the roles of executive director and project manager. First, let me briefly quote the basic definitions of both terms, according to Google:
- CEO (chief executive officer) is the highest-ranking person in a company or other institution, ultimately responsible for taking managerial decisions.
- PM (project manager) is the person in overall charge of the planning and execution of a particular project.
In view of these definitions, one question comes to my mind. As an executive director, what do I need to make a good managerial decision? Because everyone can make decisions and these can be either bad or good, what does it say that what I'm about to do will be good forever?
Having a good mood? Probably. Nice weather behind the window? Maybe. But what I consider to be the highest necessity is something quite different - the people around me. People I support and who support me at such critical moments.
