All in one application - that is Easy Redmine
RTL Radio use Easy Redmine to maintain help desk, resources, attendance and of course all IT and software projects. We like the complexity - using all-in-one solution is just wonderful.
Resource Management Plugin helps managers to plan / manage utilization of their project teams in the future. You can easily look how are your people utilized in the future - whether and when they are overload or when they are available for unassigned tasks.
See Plugin detail here:
To get into Resource Management open "More" option in the main menu and click on "Resource Management".
You can filter:
Once the desired filter is set, you can save it for future use via clicking on "Save".
Saved filters can be afterwards shown via clicking on "Show saved filters".
In the left part of the screen you see tasks assigned to people (according to the applied filter), grouped by people. Number in the bracket is estimated time to complete the task.
Estimated time is allocated into the days from the due date backwards.
If the time estimate for the taks is 20 hours and due date is 3. 10. - then allocation is as follows: 3. 10. - 8 hours, 2. 10. - 0 hours since it is weekend and these are skipped, 1. 10. - 0 hours, 30. 9. - 8 hours and 29. 9. - 4 hours = 20 hours in total.
The sum of allocated time to particular user is shown in his name row. If it is red, user is overloaded - there is more time allocated than he can actually work, since work capacity can be set in your profile.
As you drop the task, sum of allocated time is automatically recalculated and you see what is the total per day workload.Once you are satisfied with the plan - work load is ballanced for all the users - you can save setting by clicking on "save changes" - all the affected task are updated now and notifications are sent do particular users.
You can also "Undo unsaved changes" to get back to starting point.
If you want to change allocation of estimated time per day on particular task, just double click on the task and rewrite time estimate in particular day.
It can afterwards look like this - you simply set that a user is supposed to allocated 2 hours per day to particular task, where total estimated time is for example 8 hours.
Each Easy Redmine user can have his/her time allocation lucidly displayed on the personal page - it helps people to orient in how much time they should dedicate to particular task per day.
To set it up, go to personal page setting, and choose Resource allocation module:
Then set the modul up via filters:
Name the module for example "My time allocation"
Choose time period - next month (next 30 days)
Choose the user
And save personal page setting.
Module afterwards looks like this - it really helps people to handle their work load.
